Imagine, flying through the air in a carriage filled with your friends. Soaring through the sky doing corkscrews and going upside down. This will all come true on Wednesday, May 28th for at least 440 seniors taking a trip to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey.
The trip teased at the homecoming assembly has finally been approved according to class of 2025 advisor Mrs. Marino.
“We are going on May 28th, it’s a school day. It’s the Wednesday after Memorial Day weekend. We will be leaving around 9 am and getting back around 9 pm,” Marino stated.
Seniors will be pleased to hear of the cost of the trip which dwarfs in comparison to the price of the senior class Disney Trip.
“I’m going to say around $135 per person and the ticket includes a lunch at the park. We will start selling tickets sometime in January and make it due during February,” Marino stated.
However, students will be pleasantly surprised to find out their method of transportation to Six Flags Great Adventure.
“As of now we are taking nice coach busses. Right now we have the room for 440 seniors on the busses,” Marino shared.
Supervision may be an issue of concern for students when deciding whether or not to attend the Six Flags trip. However, they will be pleased to know students will be able to hang out with whoever they want during their trip.
“We’ll go together as a group, obviously, and then when you get into the park, you have to stay in the park, and then we’ll meet at the end of the day. So your part time is your own time. Yes, you don’t hang with your chaperones,” Marino stated.
With the large cost, not all seniors were able to attend the Disney trip with their friends. Marino hopes that with the $135 price tag, more seniors will be able to experience one last trip with their friends.
“We wanted to have an opportunity for all seniors to do something every class,” Marino stated.
The planning of the trip has not been all sunshine and rainbows for the planning committee. However, their resilience has made the trip come to life.
“I’m having a hard time finding busses. Okay, that is, if I could find unlimited busses, it’d be very easy trip, but we’ve enough for 440 kids right now,” Marino stated.
With senior year coming to a close, the Six Flags trip is projecting to be one last hurrah with high school friends.
