Al Roesch-North Penn Neighbors for Progress

If re-elected, what are your biggest priorities post-pandemic?

I will continue to vote to invest in 21 century infrastructure, educational programs that meet the needs of today and tomorrow, empower students to improve the school climate, work with first responders to improve school safety, and staff training to achieve these goals in a fiscally responsible manor.

What are the biggest things you’ve learned, personally and/or professionally, from your experience as a Board member since the start of the pandemic?

I saw many improvements including full day kindergarten, a 10 year comprehensive building plan, Knapp school update, an upgraded sports stadium, a new reading list, and the new math program that our school board approved. I witnessed how the students, parents, staff, and community value our school district and how we work collaboratively with our community partners to make these improvements.

Is there anything you wish you had done differently over the past year?

I am very proud to have served my community with this outstanding NP team. While you can never be sure that the decisions you make were the best decisions, I believe that as a team we made informed choices that kept our community safe and improved the school climate.

What is your proudest accomplishment from your time on the Board thus far?

Working with the administration and school board members, I have worked hard to give students a voice in what is taught in our schools, how our policies are developed, and instill student aspirations into school board decisions. I urge you to contact the school board and let us know how we can do to help you reach your goals.

In other years, SB elections may not have had a direct impact on the day to day lives of all students and families. Now, with the ongoing re-opening process, that is not the case. In those terms, does this election feel especially important?

In my mind this election is about community investment in the growth and continued development of a quality education system. Do we want 21 century infrastructure, educational programs that meet the needs of today and tomorrow, and staff training to meet those goals? North Penn Neighbors for Progress is committed to achieving these goals in a fiscally responsible manor.
