What are your main goals for Senior year?

My main goal for our Senior year is trying to make up the lost experiences of our junior year. After all, so many of us had already purchased our dresses, planned our pictures, and in general were excited to attend junior prom—all to have it cancelled because of the coronavirus. Next year, I want to use our remaining funds to go ALL OUT. I want to add more photo-ops at dances, plan grander themes, and, as always, offer more food. And you heard it here!!! I will get better music at our dances through a school-wide survey of our favorite songs. But most importantly, I want to end our high school career on a high note, making us truly miss the place that has given us the most stress, but also our closest friends and fondest memories.

What does it mean to you knowing you’ll play an integral part in planning prom, reading names at graduation, etc.?

Knowing I’ll play an integral part in planning prom and other senior events honestly makes me excited to go back and tackle the behind-the-scenes of it all. Being as this is our last year, this responsibility means a lot to me. After all, people put trust in our cabinet to plan the year they will most remember. I have high hopes for next year and I guarantee we will follow through. As for reading names at graduation, as a little girl, I’ve always wanted to speak at graduation (Troy Bolton did it) and even though it’s not going to be a speech, reading the names at graduation is the thing that everyone here at North Penn has strived for. I will try to get everyone’s name right!!! You didn’t stress for 3 years for someone to mess up your name when it’s all said and done.

What have you learned about yourself/your desire to serve NPHS during our quarantine?

Because I am so involved in our school with activities other than Class Cabinet like Lab Aides, Study Buddies, Chinese Club, and Science Olympiad, being stuck at home made me feel like I lost a piece of myself. Some days I would spend 10 hours at school and come home exhausted, but at least I knew I did something worthwhile. Now, coming up on 60 days of quarantine, I find myself still wanting to serve my community.  If anything this time has taught me that I would much rather be out and about, organizing and socializing with members of our community.  I will never lose my passion to serve people, and I certainly won’t stop now.
