53 FBLA students advance to state competition

TOWAMENCIN – North Penn FBLA had a very busy day last Thursday, hosting the Regional Leadership Conference for the Future Business Leaders in Region 20.  This is the beginning of the competitive event process as student members have the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and ability in various business-related events.  Some students elect to compete in the performance events – Job Interview, Public Speaking, Emerging Business Issues just to name a few.  Others like to take an on-line test relating to a specified business area.  There are numerous tests, but some include Accounting, Marketing, Business Procedures, and Sports Management. There is also an opportunity to compete in various computer-related events, Database, Spreadsheets, and Word, where the students create documents from information supplied to them by Pennsylvania FBLA.

Fourteen schools from Montgomery County had students who competed.  There were a total of 550 students overall who competed in all three areas.  North Penn did very well with 53 students placing high enough in their event to qualify to compete at the State Leadership Conference.

The State Conference is held in Hershey April 2-5.  Below is a listing of all students who placed in the top ten in their event.
