How long have you been at North Penn?

“I have been in the school district [for] five years and at North Penn High School for two years.”

What made you want to become a school nurse?

“Initially, I was looking for a place to work that worked well with my kids’ schedule when they were younger. So I started working in a school nurse’s office when they were in sixth grade, and I found that I really, really liked it. So I then went back to school and earned my certificate and master’s degree.”

What is the best thing about being a school nurse?

“The opportunity to be able to help students understand any disease processes they may have going on and teach students how to stay healthy.”

What is your favorite things to do outside of school?

“I like to spend time with my family, travel, and crochet. I have travelled across upstate Pennsylvania and to Disney, Rome, Smith Mountain Lake, and St. John.”

What is an interesting fact about you?

“I have quadruplets, two boys and two girls!”

What is North Penn to you?

“From the nurse’s office perspective, the large volume of students we deal with. We are able to meet all the state required mandates for such a large number of students, and that really unique.”

What would you like to do in the future?

“Retire someday, but also we are hoping to plan a trip next summer to California. My ultimate trip is to be able to go for four to six weeks in a motorhome and see the entire United States.”
