There is a buzz in the air at North Penn High School… no, not the bees – they’re gone and old news. This buzz is swirling around one of the most exciting weeks of the year, Homecoming week. And as always, fourteen students are in the running to be crowned royalty on Friday night during halftime of the football game versus Pennridge. As we get closer to that magical moment, here is a look at this year’s homecoming court.

 

KENNY FELTON

What activities are you involved in at North Penn?

“I am involved in many of the music events here at North Penn. They include the North Penn Marching Knights, Bards (Men’s Choir), Wind Ensemble, Choir, and Career Study at Gwynedd Square!”

What does being on Homecoming Court mean to you?

“Being on Homecoming Court is such an honor! To me it means that people really see me for who I am and that I can be seen as a role model in NPHS!”

What is one interesting fact about you?

“I have sold 45 boxes of chocolate for my senior class’s fundraiser for our class Disney Trip.”

 

 

CLAIRE HOLSINGER 

What activities are you involved in at North Penn?

“I am involved with North Penn Chamber Singers, Troubadors, Key Club, National Honors Society, Thespians, and Student Government.”

What does being on homecoming court mean to you?

“It feels so good to represent my class and be involved this homecoming. I’m so excited to have fun with my friends this week!”

What’s one fun fact about yourself?

“A fun fact about me is that I’ve never been stung by a bee!”

 

 

 

AIDEN EAVES

What activities are you involved in at North Penn?

“I play football at North Penn, I’m also in Key Club and Ski/Board Club.” 

What does being on homecoming court mean to you?

“Being on homecoming court is a really great opportunity to have a bunch of fun in my last year of high school with a bunch of great people.”

What’s one fun fact about yourself?

“I have a dog named Bruce Wayne”

 

 

 

 

 

DOTTIE CALHOUN

What activities are you involved in at North Penn? 

“I’m involved in Thespian Troupe 5464 and the Troubadours and Chamber choirs!” 

What does being on homecoming court mean to you?

“It means that I get to represent North Penn and everything we have to offer here! The court this year has such a good mix of people from alll different activities and social groups, it’s a great snapshot of the NPHS community!”

What is one interesting fact about you?

“For a very brief moment in time, I was a state-ranked swimmer in Buttefly stroke (mostly because no one else in my age group wanted to swim it)”

 

 

DYLAN WEBB-DENNIS

What activities are you involved in at North Penn? 

“I’m a member of BSU and also team captain of the football team.”

What does being on homecoming court mean to you?

“Being on the court means to me that I’m greatful to have so many people think so higly of me enough to vote for me.”

What is one interesting fact about you?

“The first thing I was good at was playing music and not football” 

 

 

 

DEMI WEBB-DENNIS

What activities are you involved in at North Penn? 

I am the current president of the Black Student Union, in SGA Cabinet, and in Link Crew. I also was chosen to be a mentor for troubled youths at a local elementary school. I have also been in Band for nine years. 

What does being on Homecoming court mean to you? 

Being on the homecoming court really just shows how much of an impact I have truly made for the school and how much people trust to believe in me as a person. 

What is one interesting fact about you? 

One interesting fact about me is that I always dot the i’s in my name with a heart.

 

 

KAELLUM BUSSE 

What activities are you involved in at North Penn? 

Right now I am not in any activities at the moment but I played High School golf for 2 years. I was also part of minithon last year. This year I am planning on joining the Bocce team. 

What does being on Homecoming court mean to you? 

To me, Homecoming court is a way to express your true inner self and show the school who you really are. 

What is one interesting fact about you? 

One interesting fact about me is that I have three dogs right now and have owned twelve dogs in my life. 

 

 

MERRYAME HAMEG 

What are you involved in at NPHS?

“I am involved in Girls Lacrosse, Italian Club, Class Cabinet, Chorus, YearBook, Key club, Mini Thon, Spanish Honors Society, and Sharing Access North Penn. 

What does being on the homecoming court mean to you? 

“Being on the homecoming court just means, honestly, just showing school spirit and kind of like uniting the school in a way. And just being a role model for everyone and showing what North Penn stands for.”

What is one interesting fact about you?

“I have a twin brother.” 

 

 

ALANNA NGUYEN 

What are you involved in at NPHS?

“I’m the president of Vietnamese Cultural Club, secretary of SGA, the mentorship program, link crew, the girls track and field team, and I am running the Multicultural Celebration this year.” 

What does being on the homecoming court mean to you? 

“Being a part of homecoming court means a lot to me because I get to enjoy this bit of senior year with the best people! I’m so excited to eat all the food, they be feeding us for court!”

What is one interesting fact about you?

“An interesting fact about me is that I can surf”

 

 

 

 

 

RAYAT KARIM

What Activities are you involved in at North Penn?

“I am a part of NPTV as cast/crew, Astronomy Club as Vice President, NP Bards/Chambers Singer, and NP Model Aviation Club.” 

What does being on Homecoming Court mean to you?

“Honestly, not much. I was kind of nominated as a joke and decided to commit to it because my friends wanted me to. So if it means anything, I guess it means a chance to represent the friends that I’ve made over the past 12 years here at North Penn. 

What is one interesting fact about you?

“Given any object or noun or topic, I can make a dad joke out of it within 30 seconds at most.”

 

 

DANIEL OLABANJI

What activities are you involved in at North Penn?

“I am a member of the North Penn Varsity Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field Program. I am also a member of NHS, Link Crew, JROTC, and Class Cabinet.”

What does being on Homecoming Court mean to you?

“It’s an honor to be in the court. I was definitely shocked that I got in the court because at first it was something me and my friends were joking about and never took seriously, but that joke turned into a competition.”

What is one interesting fact about you?

“I lived in Nigeria for 8 years before coming to America.”

 

 

 

MEGHAN O’DONNELL

What activities are you involved in at North Penn?

“I am involved in Swimming, Water Polo, Special Olympics, Unified Track, I am a secretary of NHS and an officer of Key Club, and I am a member of Ski and Board Club. 

What does being on Homecoming Court mean to you? 

“I’m excited to walk on the field at halftime.”

What is one interesting fact about you?

“An interesting fact about me is that I am left handed.”

What activities are you involved in at North Penn?

“I’m the president of the Jewish cultural club and last year I helped out with the multicultural celebration as well as performed. [I’m also] vice president of Key Club.”

What does being on Homecoming court mean to you?

“It’s a super big honor and I’m grateful to everyone who nominated me for it.”

What is one interesting fact about you?

“I spend my entire summers at the Jersey shore.”

“I have been a part of the NP lacrosse team for 3 years, and the Special Olympics club for 2 years.”

“Being on homecoming court makes me feel appreciated by all my peers, and proves that kindness goes a long way.”

What is one interesting fact about you?

“I have type one diabetes.”
