Sports Knight-cap: Soccer wins thriller over CB East

BUCKINGHAM – The North Penn Knights (8-2) were on the road Thursday afternoon, when they headed to Bucks County to face off against their division rival, the Central Bucks East Patriots (4-5-1) in the final game of the regular season.

With the Patriots leading at halftime, coach Chris Deppepe fired up the boys heading into the second half. Junior Hunter Stites scored first for the Knights, igniting the comeback.

With only 4 minutes remaining a Patriot player played the ball illegally with their hand in the box, leading to a Knights Penalty Kick. Senior Co-Captain Josh Jones stepped up to the stripe and failed to convert, but luckily got another opportunity with 0.01 seconds left on the clock when he got tripped up from behind as time expired.

Jones slotted the ball perfectly past the East goalkeeper on the penalty kick, giving the Knights the last second 2-1 victory.
