TOWAMENCIN- The Patriots came out ready to go with the hot shooting hand and the Knights just never caught up, as they played from behind for the rest of the game after East’s first basket of the game.

The North Penn Knights (1-4) lost to the Central Bucks East Patriots (3-4) 70-47 to kickoff winter break 2019 on Friday night.

Matt Swanson put the first couple of points of the night up on the board, as he went 2/2 from the free throw line.  Joe Jackman scored a three for the Patriots and they went up 3-2 and kept the lead for the remainder of the game.  They started the game with an 11-2 run in the first minute and 42 seconds of the game.  They did it by shooting the three ball extremely well as they had 5 three-pointers in the first quarter.  The first quarter ended with the Patriots up 21-12.

“We have a team of shooters and all fourteen of our varsity guys can shoot the three and its a luxury to have.  We work on that quite a bit,” Patriots head coach, Erik Henrysen said.

The Patriots went up by double digits after Jackman made a layup and was fouled in the process with 2:15 left in the first half.  His free throw was good and the Patriots went up 30-18.  At the end of the half, they extended their lead to 36-22 after Jackman made a half court shot as he fell with three defenders in his face.

With 6:21 left in the game, the Patriots went up by 21 after a bucket from Chris Charlton as the Knights went on to lose by an eventual 23 points.  Next up for the Knights is Christopher Dock as the Knights will take on current North Penn health and physical education teacher along with former North Penn head coach, Michael Fergus and his Pioneers at North Penn’s gymnasium Monday night at 7:00.

“We’re just focused on us.  We’re trying to get better.  Long way to go obviously but we’re just focused on us,” Head Coach John Conrad said about the Knights future with the current losing streak.
