Senior softball players go out in style

Senior Emily Groarke gets in ready position at the hot corner.

TOWAMENCIN- The North Penn softball team celebrated their seniors Monday with a dominating performance over Great Valley, a final score of 22-5 in four innings. The Knights were led by their six seniors, Laura Brock, Tori Chiu, Erin Cliver, Emily Groarke, Courtney Neal, and Laura Taylor, who all started and impacted the game. Great Valley had some excellent moments and plays but ultimately was not enough to contain the highly motivated Knights.

The team received contributions from everyone on the team, as both starters and bench players saw time on the field or at bat. The Knights got on base with being disciplined at the plate and drawing walks and hard lined singles throughout the game. The team batted around in both the first two innings and saw the lead at 17 to 1 at one point. Rachael Lowry hit her pitches and was steady for the Knights all through the game. A 3 run homer by Ava McKee gave the Knights the victory, giving them the 15 run mercy rule they were looking for.

The Lady Knights of North Penn have finished game 1 of 3 games they will have to play consecutively. Congratulations to the seniors for all their hard work and commitment to the team.
