Knights gallop past Ghosts on Senior Night

TOWAMENCIN – Having already clinched a District One playoff berth, the Knights looked to end their regular season on a high note and secure prime seeding in the bracket. They were able to do just that Friday night, coasting to a 63-21 win over Abington.

Nick Isabella got the scoring started for the Knights with a 27 yard touchdown run, the first of three end zone trips for the senior.

Four minutes later Abington tied the game up at seven a piece, but the draw wouldn’t last long, as Nyfease West would find the end zone with 4:55 left in the first quarter. West’s run capped off a 5 play 70 yard drive for the Knights.

After that the Knights never looked back, scoring 5 unanswered touchdowns en route to their convincing win on senior night.

“We just wanted to finish off the season with a win and carry the momentum into the playoffs” said senior running back Justin Ostopowicz. Ostopowicz is part part of arguably the most menacing backfield trio in district one, accompanied by Nyfease West and Nick Isabella.

The 9th ranked Knights open up playoffs next week at Unionville, the 8 seed in the district.

“I liked a lot of what we were able to do offensively,” added Ostopowicz “we just need to stay focused and ready headed into next week.”
