Still better than Field Yates, Week 7 Fantasy Football Picks

Must Start QBs

Andy Dalton, Cincinnati: The Red Rifle is having another pretty solid year so far, benefitting greatly from a fully healthy AJ Green. In the last couple of weeks, he has scored at least two total touchdowns and thrown for over 250 yards against some very good opponents on the road in New England and Dallas. Dalton isn’t one of those guys who you can almost guarantee a huge game out of week in and week out, but this week is a totally different story. This week Dalton plays the one and only Cleveland Browns. That statement alone should have given you the utmost confidence in Dalton. The Browns are just a disgrace, and they commonly find a way into my articles each and every week for a reason. Pickup and stream Dalton in every league that he is available in, and if you currently have him on your team, you better start him if you know what’s good for you.

Philip Rivers, San Diego: Rivers always finds a way to get it done for his fantasy owners each year. This season he has looked like the same consistent Chargers QB that we have become accustomed to. Last week against the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos, he didn’t perform as well as most owners would of liked him to, but I’m expecting a good comeback performance this week against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons have been pretty bad defensively all year, and I don’t see this changing all the sudden come Sunday. It’s very possible that Rivers lights up the lackluster Falcons all day and ends up providing ample points for his owners

Must Start RBs

James White, New England: Tom Brady really likes James White. James White’s last nine games with Tom Brady as Quarterback have led to what would be a 16 game pace of 78 catches and 821 recovering yards. That’s a very solid season for any RB, especially a receiving back that went undrafted in most leagues. Last week he found the end zone twice and was heavily involved in the game throughout. This week he faces a Pittsburgh Steelers team that was torched by Jay Ajayi last week for over 200 yards and 2 touchdowns (40 fantasy points). I’m expecting the game to go New England’s way Sunday, especially with the injury to star QB Big Ben, forcing him out this week. White’s a great low-end start this week who has great potential and could end up helping any team to a victory in Week 7.

Devonta Freeman, Atlanta: This week the Atlanta Falcons take on the San Diego Chargers in what looks to be a for sure high scoring game. Freeman has looked good so far this season, even with more competition from backup Tevin Coleman. Freeman has run for over 80 yards in 3 games this season and went for over 152 rushing yards week 3 against the New Orleans Saints. It’s been proven that both Freeman and Coleman can each have good games in the same week. Going against a defense as bad as the Chargers this week, I think does nothing but help the chances of this happening.

Must Start WRs

Michael Crabtree, Oakland: Throughout this season Michael Crabtree has shown he is not an average receiver in this league and is an elite red zone threat every time down the field. Already with 5 touchdowns this season, Crabtree has been a top fantasy option at receiver all season. This week he plays the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have been a complete mess all season, especially the secondary. Amari Cooper and Crabtree should have a field day Sunday with this defense, and it is very possible that both players have monster games.

Mike Wallace, Baltimore: This week Baltimore’s predominant number one receiver Steve Smith Sr. is doubtful and very unlikely to suit up Sunday. This may sound bad on paper, especially for Baltimore Ravens football fans, but for Mike Wallace’s fantasy owners, this is great news. The injury to Smith now leads to a ton of targets that need to be accounted for, and the most likely candidate for those targets is their big play receiver and veteran, Mike Wallace. Wallace got off to a hot start this season scoring 3 touchdowns in his first two games but has yet to find the end zone again since. This week he plays the New York Jets, who have allowed over 3 touchdowns at LEAST in every game this season. I’m expecting a good game for Wallace and the Ravens, and I think he has a very good chance of finding his way to the end zone once or twice this week.

Must Start TEs

Hunter Henry, San Diego: The next big thing at TE, some say, Hunter Henry has been pretty dominant in his last 3 games. Since Antonio Gates went down and Henry got his shot, he has been opening a lot of eyes and is now seriously contending to take Gates’s job for good. This week Henry and the San Diego Chargers play the Atlanta Falcons in an almost guaranteed high scoring affair. I’m expecting Rivers to look Henry’s way early and often, and I think there is a very high chance he finds his way into the end zone for the 4th game in a row.

Gary Barnidge, Cleveland: So far this season, Gary Barnidge has been somewhat of a disappointment. He has yet to find the end zone this season and hasn’t looked as dominant as he did last season. But he has showed at times throughout the season that he can still perform at a high level and make some big plays for his football team, even if he may always have a below average Quarterback running his offense. This week he plays the Cincinnati Bengals who have had their troubles with TEs already this season. Even with the Browns’ QB struggles and lack of talent overall on offense, I expect a solid game for Barnidge.

Sneaky Streamer Start

This is what it has come to for the defending NFC champion Panthers. Either they beat the New Orleans Saints in the Superdome on Sunday, or they fall into last place in the NFC South by themselves with 10 games to go. “You don’t expect to start this way,” Luke Kuechly said. “It’s a situation we are in now and it’s all about how you’re going to respond from it.” (AP Photo/Bob Leverone, File)

Jacquizz Rodgers, Tampa Bay: Jacquizz Rodgers was an unknown name to most until his performance Monday night. After starting for the hurt Doug Martin last week, Rodgers ran the ball 30 times for 101 yards and also added 5 catches in an absolutely fantastic game. He looked like a star featured back for the Buccaneers throughout the game and torched last year’s NFC champion Panthers time and time again. This week Rodgers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the San Francisco 49ers in a mouth-watering matchup for Rodgers owners. The 49ers have allowed on average 174.5 rushing yards per game this season; that is nearly 200 rushing yards a game. Start Rodgers with confidence this week.
