TOWAMENCIN – The North Penn High School swimming and diving teams are about to make a splash in the Philadelphia area sports scene. The boys and girls teams will be featured tonight on the Comcast Network as the local sports channel highlights what has been, for many decades, a dominant high school sports programs.

“We got selected because of both teams having a top 10 finish at states last year. When Ari Blustein, the host, researched local teams, he came across ours. He said he picked us because of swimming strength and also because of how the water polo teams fared this year,” explained girls swim coach Matt Weiser.

The program aired last evening on the Comcast Network and will air again tonight, Thursday February 19th, at 5:30 PM.  In addition to highlighting the success of the program, the show also allows the NP swimming and diving teams to showcase their program to future generations of North Penn swimmers.

“People can really expect to see us answer a few basic swimming questions, and see some footage of the swimmers and divers. They used a GoPro Camera to capture footage, and I’m interested to see how it turns out. For us, I think it’s just some good publicity for the program. There were a lot of younger swimmers, divers, and water polo players who walked into their age group practice as the interviews were being filmed,” added Weiser.

The program airs on Channel 846 for Comcast and 580 for Verizon fios.
