Although Disney+’s WandaVision is no where near finished– explore what it’s been like up until its latest episode.

I was walking around my kitchen and saw that my dad was browsing TV and movie options.
He asked me if I wanted to watch a new show that Marvel just put out. I said “ok” and it started. After it ended, needless to say, that I couldn’t wait for the next episode.

WandaVision is the first of Marvel’s line of new shows airing on Disney+. Starring Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda and Paul Bettany as Vision. Some new faces with the likes of Kathryn Hahn as the Nosy Neighbor, Teyonah Parris as Monica, and Fred Melamed as Dr. Hart. Did it set the stage for the new era of Marvel, or is it foreshadowing a cinematic dark age for the company?

I am happy to say that it didn’t disappoint, but it’s not what most marvel fans would expect. For example, in Avengers: Age of Ultron, the Scarlet Witch and Vision made their debuts, and it was explosive. They went on to be in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Endgame. In those movies, it was mostly action-induced scenes with massive battles.

WandaVison takes a completely different direction than all of those prior, it’s a sitcom. The way that the first 3 episodes have played out was with references to older shows, such as “I Love Lucy”, “Leave it to Beaver”, “The Brady Bunch” and a lot more to come. With each episode, it seems to not only progress the plot, but also the different decades of television.

As of this article, only 6 episodes have been released. With 3 more on the way. The plot has really shown itself, and that gets me excited. With events becoming more and more peculiar as each episode comes along, I cannot tell where this will fit in with the rest of the MCU. I’m sure a lot of fans will be happy to know that the events in WandaVision tie into the next Doctor Strange movie, which I believe will set off the new main story since the conclusion of the Infinity War saga. With the conclusion of episode 6, I can only think that Wanda’s powers will reveal a plot-altering device that flips the story on its head.

I can say with absolute certainty that this was a unique experience and it really was a different style of show that Marvel has shown us. I cannot wait to sit down and watch the final 3 episodes of this amazing series.
