May is the time of springtime and flowers… or at least, it should be.

You know what they say… April showers bring May flowers! Just kidding. This year, April showers have brought nothing but May showers. The gloom of the season seems to perfectly describe the time of year students are currently in. Although the pace of the year has somewhat slowed down (unless you’re an AP student, in which case, good luck), finals are looming in the future.

Here’s a small playlist of songs that perfectly describe the “27 days left oh god” mentality of students everywhere.

1. Rock Bottom by Hailee Steinfeld (ft. DNCE)

No, this song isn’t about hitting rock bottom. It’s about coming back up! At this point, things can only get better. Just keep the positive mentality that you’ll get through it, and it should be smooth sailing from here on out.

2. All The Stars by Kendrick Lamar (ft. SZA)

This tune is pretty optimistic in nature, as it’s essentially about getting through any obstacles in your path. It promotes that “you can do it” attitude that so many students are trying to achieve. Not to mention, it’s a really good song.

3. Whatever It Takes by Imagine Dragons

Getting through these last few weeks will take everything you have. To help you conquer the rest of the marking period, Imagine Dragons has provided a bop that can help you get in the right spirit.

4. Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots

“Wish we could turn back time/to the good old days/when our mama sang us to sleep but now we’re stressed out” pretty much sums it all up.

5. successful by Ariana Grande

Feeling down? Ariana has your back. “successful” is an upbeat proclamation of realizing your own self-worth and skills. If you want a feel-good mood booster, this is the song for you.

6. Slow Burn by Kacey Musgraves

It feels like the year has gone by really slowly, right? Right. The first step in getting through these remaining days is accepting it. I know, it’s hard to make it through the day, but this “slow burn” will be over soon enough.

7. Changes by DeJ Loaf

This tune is especially good for study breaks. It’s a fast-paced song with good vibes, in essence, a celebration of how much you’ve grown and changed over the past year. It may have been long, but you’re probably better off than you were in August 2018.

8. This Summer by Maroon 5

All of the songs so far have been about the school year, so why not have one about the upcoming summer? It helps to remember what you’re working towards here, a few months of no stress and all fun.

9. Heaven Help Me by Rob Thomas

At this point, we need all the help we can get in finishing up the year. Am I right?

10. Hard Times by Paramore

Our final song is a feel-good bop about making it through tough times, but looking back on them and being thankful that they’re over. If you have that attitude while looking back at the year, it will probably raise your mood!
