LANSDALE – The weekend of October 22nd was an eventful one for North Penn’s International Friendship Club. The group gathered at the home of one of its officers to engage in the holiday tradition of carving pumpkins. This festivity is sparsely practiced outside of the states and – accompanied by the timeless hay ride to choose the perfect gourds, was a brilliant way to acclimate the exchange students to American customs.
Out of the four exchange students, only one had previous experience carving pumpkins – but despite this fact, every single student ended up with a lovely end result. The lack of experience, in this case, was not a heavily contributing factor. Though this was a rather small event, the IF Club welcomes any and all – upcoming events include a trip to the famed Christkindlmarkt and a cookie bake in the month of December.
