TOWAMENCIN – Over the past few years, streaming services have become extremely prevalent among students, with Netflix being one of the most popular. From comedies to dramas to horror, Netflix has a wide range of shows to satisfy everyone’s interests. Next time you’re looking for a new show to binge, check out some of the shows that North Penn students voted as their favorites.

5. Friends

Although Friends was originally released in 1994, the sitcom became popular among students once it became available to stream on Netflix. The comedy, which aired for ten seasons, follows best friends Rachel, Phoebe, Monica, Joey, Chandler, and Ross through the adventures of their 20s. With its funny, relatable characters and contagious catchphrases, Friends is sure to remain a popular show for years to come.

4. American Horror Story

American Horror Story came in at fourth as North Penn students’ favorite show on Netflix. Each season, the show creates a new set of characters and follows a completely different (but just as horrifying) storyline. From witchcraft in New Orleans to the lives of insane asylum patients to a killer clown threatening a circus, at least one season of AHS is bound to interest anyone.

3. Grey’s Anatomy

The long-running drama Grey’s Anatomy came in at third for North Penn’s favorite show on Netflix. The show is so popular that ABC has renewed it for a fifteenth season. The show follows the unpredictable life of Meredith Grey and her fellow doctors who work at the fictional Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital (and is the perfect show to watch for those who need a good cry).

2. Black Mirror

This suspenseful sci-fi series seems to have North Penn students hooked. The show is considered a contemporary reworking of The Twilight Zone, but it focuses on how modern technology can go wrong. Recently, Black Mirror released an interactive episode called “Bandersnatch,” which had many North Penn students, as well as the entire internet, discussing the episode’s multiple endings.

1. The Office

The Office was originally a British comedy show, but the US adaptation was voted as North Penn students’ favorite show on Netflix. The show aired for nine seasons on NBC and is now one of the most streamed shows on Netflix. The show follows a group of ordinary office workers throughout their days at Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. While watching a show about office workers doesn’t sound all that amusing, the interactions between characters and storyline progression make The Office a hit. And with all the drama and horror shows that North Penn students also voted as their favorites, sometimes you need a laugh.
