TOWAMENCIN – JROTC is a course that has many things to offer, which range from leadership skills to modern aviation. The classroom consists of two parts. In the first part, you learn problem solving abilities, leadership qualities, responsibility, learn basic drill movements, and more. The second part of the class is science; you learn about basic aviation and the science of flight, and because of this, you earn science credits for the course.
However, the experience does not have to stop there. North Penn JROTC also offers a wide variety of clubs and extra-curricular activities, which includes the drill team, color guard (which performs color guard for the North Penn football team), physical training, and an exhibition team. Cadets also have the choice to volunteer their time at several events like Back to School Night, Relay for Life, Lansdale and Montgomery Oktoberfest and Autumnfest, and NPHS theater escort. This is a great experience where you have fun, meet new people, and make a difference in your community. Also, upon completion of North Penn AFJROTC, you can be eligible for scholarships, as well as college credits through Adams State College.
Despite popular belief, JROTC is not a military recruiting tool. In fact, 97% of the cadets in JROTC have little or no interest in the military. Whether you are interested in the military, want to become part of a family, or you want to learn to be a leader, Junior ROTC is the course to take. If you have any questions or are interested in learning more, you can e-mail Maj. Miller or CMSgt. Sullivan at [email protected] or [email protected]. You can also drop by the JROTC room H-4 at any time!
