TOWAMENCIN – October has finally arrived, bringing forth the massive array of pink to be seen nation wide. Millions of people this week will be wearing pink, the symbolic color which shows their collective support for the fight for a cure for breast cancer. The North Penn Key Club is asking North Penn community to get involved and help raise money and awareness for this great cause.
The North Penn High School Key Club is hosting a breast cancer awareness football game. It will be Friday October 12th where the North Penn Knights will take on The Hatboro-Horsham Hatters. North Penn has participated in many fight for the cure events. North Penn participated in a breast cancer awareness football game with Pennridge as well as Souderton. The Key club has also hosted Coaches vs. Cancer basketball game along with a Breast cancer awareness volleyball game.
“Every year we try to do a game and the kids really wanted to host one this year” said Mrs. Linda Law, the Key Club advisor. There are many North Penn faculty and staff members, coaches, and students that have either gone through breast cancer or have known friends and family members that have gone through it.
There will be pink breast cancer awareness t-shirts available to be purchased during all lunches during this week. The T-shirts come in all sizes, $10 for Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Larges. Double Extra Larges will be sold for $12. T-shirts will also be for sale during the game at a table which will be located at the main entrance to the stadium.
