FRANCONIA – North Penn hosted Quakertown at Earl Bowl lanes on Monday for ah early season crucial match. The Panthers of Quakertown for both the boys and girls return two very strong squads this season with the boys trying to defend their championship from last year. Most likely the biggest supporting crowd for both teams saw a match highly contested were not disappointed.   

In the boys match the first game went to the Panthers eking out a very close game (886) to (866). Two Panthers has good games in their win, Brayden Ristine (203) and Ayden Leighton (214). High games for the Knights was Tyler Caiazzo (187) and Chase Lechner (192). The Knights regrouped after the tight loss and won game two with Ben Tucker rolling a (211) and Chase Leckner with a great (258) game for a (990-919) win.

The teams and fans could sense the tide turning a bit. Quakertown started game three in the fist few frames hot and North Penn was struggling to get their strikes and missing some spares. That was to change in a hurry with the Knights Michael Jefferis rolling his best game of the night (225) and Leckner finishing with a (203) for a night high series of (653). The Knights won the third game by a score of (899-840). Eli Pint had the high third game for the Panthers with a (192), and Jacob Siegfried had the high series for the Panthers (562). Total pins for the night ended up in a win for the Knights (2755-2645). North Penn edged out a 3-1 victory.

In the girls match the Quakertown Panthers swept the North Penn Knights 4 games to 0. The Panthers should be able to challenge to be in the mix for their league title. The Lady Knights even though with mostly new bowlers bowled better. The Lady Panthers were led by Julia Sharbowski having the highest scores for her team with a (193)game  and a (514) series. Erin Fenstermacher also had a nice series (478) with a high game of (172). The lady Knights of North Penn high roller for tonight was Vanessa Blissman rolling a (373) series. High game was rolled by Julia Knoblauch with a 143 game.
