2022 OUTLOOK: Like every year, the Suburban One League will be highly competitive, and there is no game that will not present challenges. We will have to find ways to beat good pitching in our conference and will have to command the strike zone and stay away from free 90’s. If we do those things consistently, we believe we have a strong core of returning players who, since the day our season ended on June 14, 2021, have been determined to get back on the field and win. We like the progress our returning guys have made since last season, and we are excited about a nice mix of varsity rookies who will compete for playing time right away. The offensive options in our lineup should give us good threats one through nine, and as always defense and pitching with command will be a top priority.

Team: Girls Lacrosse

Head Coach: Heather Mellow (8th season)

2021 Season Record:  9-5 (league record 8-2)

Notable losses: Alli Lindsay (Kings college – basketball/lacrosse) and Lily Szilagyi

Key returners: Seniors: Emily Varilla, Danielle Preston, Jordan Baily, Hannah Mallitz, Ella Burget Juniors: Kiera Holt, Kayla Stressman, Grace Macnamara Sophomores: Kerry O’Donnell, Riley O’Donnell

Others to watch: Olivia Caputo(Sr), Haley Decker(Sr), Lauren Blanch(Jr), Katie Harkins (Fr)

Outlook: We lost a lot of scoring power with the graduation of Lily Szilagyi and Alli Lindsay last year.  We are looking at many players offensively to fill the void these two left. Our midfield is quick and scrappy. And our defense is seasoned and anchored by Kiera Holt in the net. Our league is tough again this year. Every team has some good players to watch out for. Our goal is to stay focused, and show up for every playing opportunity this season. If we can do that, we will do well
