It was getting closer and closer to prom and I was trying to think of a
creative way to ask my girlfriend. One day I was pulling into my
driveway and I realized that with the five windows across the second
floor of my house I could spell “PROM?”. I had found old cardboard/foam
material in my house and cut out the letters and the question mark. Then
I lined the letters with the many Christmas lights our family has. It
was all set, the question now was when was I going to ask her? I wanted
to ask her when she was least expected it. So on Tuesday last week she
had work. She assumed that afterwards her mom would pick her up, but
what she didn’t know was that I would be. I told her I wanted to show
her something and told her to close her eyes nearing my house. I pulled
up in front of my house, got her out of the car and onto the sidewalk
facing my house, and told her to open her eyes. I was standing in the
middle of my lawn with flowers and above me were the letters in the
windows, and of course asked those 7 words “Will you go to prom with
me?”
