Voices of the Candidates: Michael Jowder

The Knight Crier offered this year’s North Penn School Board candidates the opportunity to address our readers as we approach the November 7th election. These submissions reflect the views of the candidates themselves.

My name is Michael Jowder, your dedicated Republican school board candidate.

I am a proud parent of three remarkable adults who successfully graduated from NPHS, each carving their own path to success.  I am delighted to mention that I am a grandparent to eight young minds who have either graduated, presently attend and will soon enroll in North Penn schools. While I may not boast an array of impressive titles, I hold one that is of paramount importance in navigating this complex world: CS, or Common Sense.

I am a staunch advocate for traditional values and an “old school” approach to education, emphasizing the timeless foundations of reading, writing, arithmetic, science, and history. Let us rekindle the essence of a bygone era, returning to the basics that provided all students with the exceptional education my own children once received during the years when NPHS proudly held an elite top 20 rating in the state.

Furthermore, I understand the pressing concerns of our senior citizens, many of whom are on a fixed income.  I am committed to keeping our tax burden low, especially for seniors like myself.  We owe it to our community’s elders to ensure they can comfortably enjoy their retirement years in the North Penn Area without the burden of excessive taxation.

Thank you for considering my candidacy and for your support as we work together to preserve the excellence of our educational system and safeguard the financial well-being of our community and our seniors.
