Hello, students, parents, and community members,

My name is Kunbi Rudnick, and I am running for one of the five (5) open North Penn School

District school board director seats alongside my colleagues on the North Penn Neighbors for

Progress team.

I am a dedicated education advocate and the proud parent of two wonderful North Penn School District students. I want to express my gratitude to The Knight Crier staff for providing us with this opportunity to engage with our community.

My family and I have lived in the district for fifteen (15) years, and we have been active community members. I am seeking a School Board position because I passionately believe every student deserves access to a quality education that equips them with the necessary skills and knowledge to be self-sufficient and successful. Furthermore, I am a strong advocate for recognizing the hidden potential within all our students, which can be unlocked through the right culture and environment. I am committed to being a part of the journey to create that environment.

A bit more about me – I have volunteered in various capacities within the school district ever since our first daughter started kindergarten ten (10) years ago. This includes serving as an active Home and School Association volunteer at Montgomery Elementary and taking on volunteer opportunities at the middle school and high school. Throughout my years of volunteering, whether as a Girls on the Run coach or an NPAGE day volunteer, I have learned that each student is unique, and while they may share many similarities, identifying and nurturing that uniqueness is one of the keys to unlocking the hidden potential of every student.

Additionally, I am a small business owner and a dedicated public servant. I am currently completing my term as a Montgomery Township Auditor, a position I was elected to in 2020. This role has given me a deep understanding of our local financial reports and the opportunities for fiscally responsible growth. As a school board director, I will leverage my financial acumen to make informed decisions about budgeting, resource allocation, and strategic financial planning. These are vital considerations for all taxpayers in our community.

Regarding my educational and professional background, I hold a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration (Villanova MBA). I have over 21 years’ experience working as an engineer in the biopharmaceutical industry, which has equipped me with strong problem-solving skills.

As we near the end of this campaign, I have reflected on the lessons I have relearned over the past ten months that are essential to being a successful school board director:

  1. Active Listening Skills: It is crucial to always actively listen, seeking to understand rather than waiting to respond. This is key to learning and making a positive contribution. I have had the privilege of listening more intently to our current school board members and community members over the past year, which has deepened my respect for the role of a school board director.
  1. Live According to Your Values: If your values are still evolving, start developing an understanding of your purpose. Your purpose and values will serve as your guiding light.
  2. Find Joy in What You Do: While reaching your goals may not always be pleasurable or joyful, finding moments of pure joy in your work will sustain you through challenging times.

I want to express my gratitude to Dr. Elisha Gee, Tim MacBain, Juliane Ramic, and Cathy Wesley for their support, encouragement, and counsel of this new candidate over the past few months. I would also like to thank them for their service to our school community. Finally, and most importantly, I want to thank my family, my spouse, and daughters, for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout this journey.

If I have the privilege of earning the support of our community on November 7th, my commitment is to honor the voices of the students, parents, and community who have chosen to elect me. If you have any questions, please feel free to direct message me on my Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter pages.

I appreciate your consideration, and I wish you all a very Happy Fall!
