Knight Like– Congrats to Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds and their new daughter Violet!

This celebrity power couple welcomed their new baby girl on Tuesday, January 6th, 2015. Born in the Westchester hospital in New York, Violet Reynolds is already more famous than I’ll ever be. Blake Lively has been headlining the media showing off her baby bump on the red carpet and on her social media-chronicled baby shower. The couple met on the movie set of The Green Lantern back in June of 2011 and married in 2012. Gossip Girl’s hit star has been in the limelight because of her (previously) soon-to-be daughter, and now that baby Violet has made her star-studded entrance into the world, all that remains for fans to do is anxiously await the first picture of the undoubtedly beautiful little Miss Reynolds.

Knight Dislike– Controversy over Sia’s music video for her new single “Elastic Heart”

Fans across the world sat in awe last May when singer/songwriter Sia released the music video for her song “Chandelier.” The video featured 12 year old Maddie Ziegler, the star of Lifetime’s reality show Dance Moms, dancing around an old apartment, wearing only a nude leotard and short, blonde wig. The video instantly became a mega hit, so Sia decided to include Ziegler in her latest video for the single, “Elastic Heart”. Critics are having a hard time accepting the video, however, because Ziegler’s dancing partner in the video happens to be 28-year-old actor Shia LaBeouf. Those who have seen the video are saying it is, at the very least, difficult to watch because the stars have such a large difference in age. The two dance around each other in a huge cage wearing tight, nude-colored garments, symbolizing something like wild animals. Personally, I have a hard time seeing the problem with the video; I think it branches onto a new level and that Sia is a creative mastermind. Additionally, the video is giving massive publicity to both Sia and the video’s two dancers. I don’t agree that it is inappropriate at all; one simply must see the original video for “Chandelier” featuring Ziegler before judging this new video. For those whom the video’s message escapes, oh well. But for Sia, I think this video is cutting edge, and that one would have to be senseless not to realize it.
