LANSDALE- December’s action meeting was held at the North Penn School District Educational Center on Tuesday, December 12th. The meeting began by Judge Susan Leonard administering the oath of office to the newest member of the school board, Kunbi Rudnick.

As of November, the board has begun to pre-record the personnel, finance, safe school, ECI, and facilities and operations reports. All reports can be found on the North Penn Television  Youtube channel.

Mr. Tim Macbain read the North Penn Montco Technical Career report in which the JOC approved the Bargaining Agreement between the North Montco Educators Association and the North Montco Joint Operation Committee. Over 75 travel requests for students taking part in career-oriented competitions within the next few months were also approved. The JOC granted approval for the institution of two new academic programs: Sports Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy.

Ms. Juliane Ramic shared the MCIU report. At the last MCIU meeting Sandy Edling, CFO/Director of Office of Business Services, provided the board with an overview of their plan to explore Countywide medical clinics. Ramic shared that the North Penn Education Foundation has approved more than $27,000 in midyear grants for projects ranging from guest musicians to technology integration.

Macbain delivered the legislative report, providing updates on Representative Ceresis bill (House Bill 1422) which is still in the hands of the senate awaiting discussion and voting. To learn more about the PA Legislature website

Dr. Todd Bauer shared the Superintendent report. A design contract with SchraderGroup Architects for district wide assembly area door hardware replacements, high school gym roof replacement, and Pennbrook modular classroom roof replacement was approved. An amendment of an existing contract to provide a traffic study for the potential high school, the original contract amount was $20,750 but an additional $6,950 is needed to complete the study. Cash receipts for the month of November totaled at $15.4 million while expenses were $19.4 million, which left the total available funds at $219.12 million. Budget transfers for the month of November have totaled to $137,749.29.

All committee reports, Solicitors report, Superintendent report, and finance report were approved. The board will meet again on Tuesday, January 9th, at the North Penn Educational Services Center for a monthly finance meeting.
