LANSDALE- September’s action meeting was held at the North Penn School District Educational Services Center on Thursday, September 21st. The action meeting reviewed topics discussed at the September finance meeting such as the charter and cyber school financials and exposures as well as the changes made in the Capital Reserve Budget.
Last school year, the board invited groups from different municipalities to come to share what they have been working on. This year, a different approach is being taken where select students are being featured from each district building. September’s action meeting featured Pennbrook’s interim principal Jim Galante along with the acting WEB group, Where Everyone Belongs, at the middle school. The students help incoming seventh graders guide their way through the school to make the transition smoother and more welcoming.
“It is our mission to make sure that all of the incoming students at orientation feel like they belong at Pennbrook,” the WEB Coordinator stated.
Mr. Christian Fusco reviewed the agenda of September’s finance meeting where the projected increase of the Act 1 index was shared. A proposed reimbursement resolution for the high school renovation project was also reviewed pertaining to the Capital Reserve Fund and the General Budget for the following school year. All financial matters will be reviewed at the October financial meeting held on Tuesday, October 10th.
The ECI Committee, Education/Curriculum/Instruction, met on August 22nd, 2023. North Penn CHIP coordinator, Mr. Christopher Frey, updates district members on the new virtual reality technology being incorporated within the program. North Penn was the only district in Pennsylvania approved for this grant. The Disability Inclusive Curriculum grant was also awarded to the district where North Penn was one of ten districts to receive this grant.
