Winter Ball is coming up soon. The article below goes into detail on everything you need to know leading up to the event.

About 704 days ago, North Penn had their last indoor high school dance. Only the seniors in North Penn High School have been able to experience this high school right of passage. Now almost two years later the buzz of Winter Ball has started again.

Students should get their tickets early because the prices will go up. Also, after January 7th students must get their tickets in Mr. Berger’s office, room F26.

“January 4th and 5th is $25, January 6th and 7th is $30, and January 10th and 11th is $35. They are going to be sold during lunches,” Junior Class Cabinet President Shafy Jalal said.

Although an indoor dance is a sign of normalcy in high school, everyone must wear a mask to enjoy this winter-themed night. All students must also make sure they have all of their obligations cleared before even purchasing a ticket.

“You need to make up all your detentions by December 22nd,” Jalal stated.

Obligations extend beyond detentions. They also are applied to books.

“I know this was a big problem that people didn’t return their books from last year. So you need to return your books or you won’t be able to go to Winter Ball,” Islam explained.

If students are planning to bring someone who doesn’t attend North Penn to the dance, they need to complete a guest form.

“Guest forms are in home offices. If you’re bringing a non-North Penn guest you have to get guest forms filled out and submitted prior to buying tickets,” Ms. Amy Young explained.

The Class Cabinets are working hard to plan out a fun night for all North Penn students.

“A big part of it is the selling of tickets. We also have a DJ that’s coming,” Junior Class Cabinet Treasurer Nate Kim said.

While not all of the details are sorted out yet, the students are definitely planning a great dance to start back up some missed traditions.

“There might be some new surprises, but we don’t want to give away everything before the dance,” Young stated.

Winter Ball has been special to many students at North Penn, but not many in the building today have experienced it. The Class Cabinets are hoping to bring that joy back.

Dances are back, and the only group of kids that’s been to a dance in this building are the seniors when they were sophomores, if they went to the Winter Ball. We’re hoping to get a really big crowd and do what we have always done before in the past.

Covid put a halt on a lot of school activities, so everyone is so excited for what is to come.

“I know a lot of people are looking forward to events. So this being the first dance in over two years, a lot of people are looking forward to it,” Jalal stated.

The class cabinet is looking forward to being able to host this event for everyone and kick off the first dance back with some fun! The dance is on January 14th starting at 7:00 PM. Look out for the blue posters in the hallway titled “Winter Ball” for any information.
