North Penn Weekly Headlines

As May approaches, the spring musical will have multiple performances this week, and spring sports action will begin to get more serious. With warmer weather on the way, the countdown to the end of the school year will begin for some students. Here’s what’s coming up this week at North Penn:  

Sports

  • On Monday April 30th, the Softball team will host Great Valley High School at 4:00.
  • The Boys Volleyball team will host Quakertown at 7:00.
  • On Tuesday May 1st the boys Track and Field team will be hosting CB South at 3:30.
  • At 3:45 the Boys Tennis team will host Upper Dublin.
  • At 3:45 the Softball team will host William Tennent.
  • On Wednesday May 2nd at 7:00 the Girls Lacrosse team will host Pennsbury in their annual Lax for Leukemia game.
  • On Thursday May 3rd the Boys Lacrosse team will host Souderton at 7:00.
  • There will be a girls’ NPHS Basketball meeting at 3:30 pm in Room J-13.
  • On Friday May 4th the Girls Lacrosse team will host Hatboro Horsham at 5:15.
  • At 7:00 the Boys Volleyball team will host Central Bucks East.
  • The TSC will be running their annual Spring Soccer Training sessions every Monday starting April 16th from 6:15 -7:45 am at Gwynedd Square Elementary School. The training sessions will run through Monday June 4th (no session on  Memorial Day Monday).
  • If you were unable to attend the golf meeting on Monday,  please see Mrs. Law in the athletic office for information.

Activities

  • On Thursday, May 3rd the Chronic and Invisible Diseases Club will hold its last meeting of the year.  The meeting will take place in room C108 and will run from 2:20 to 3:00pm.
  • North Penn High School Theatre is presenting the beloved musical Fiddler on the Roof May 3, 4, 5 at 7:30 PM and May 6 at 2:00 PM.
  • Monday,  May 7 to Friday, May 11th the Marine and Botanical Society will be hosting a plant sale in the cafeteria during lunch periods.
  • Model Aviation Club meets every Tuesday throughout the year to build and fly all sorts of radio controlled aircraft. Find the club after school on Tuesdays at 2:20 in room H-14.
  • The Democrat’s club meets every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month in room K223.
  • The North Penn Auto Show will be held on Thursday, May 17th during all lunch periods in the bus circle.  Student applications are now being accepted for participation in the 2018 North Penn Auto Show.

Announcements

  • For Seniors, your school email address will expire on July 13, 2018.  You should create a personal email, if you do not already have one, and transfer any information you need to retain to your personal email before July 13th.
  • If you’d like to help out with this year’s Elementary School Olympic Day, pick up field trip forms and sign up in the K-Pod Reception Office.  Sign ups are limited to ten students per elementary school. Seniors may sign up now; Juniors may sign up beginning April 30th; Sophomores may sign up beginning May 7th. You’ll have to complete field trip forms and submit them before signing up.
  • FBLA will be accepting officer applications through Friday, May 4, for the 2018-2019 school year.  Voting will occur at a general membership meeting on Thursday, May 10.
  • Knights Knutrition is looking for a manager to run the concession stand next year.  Applicants will be part of the Career/Work Program and will have time released from classes to manage the stand
  • The cap & gown link for Student Services Co. is now closed, so if you did not order a cap & gown, one will be ordered for you & payment of $25.00 cash only is due the day of cap & gown distribution on June 6th (after practice).
  • Starting April 16 through May 4, North Penn High School Thespians will be taking orders for Senior Prom boutonnieres, corsages, and nosegay bouquets at all lunches!
