FBI Seizes Cohen’s Recordings

Michael Cohen, the personal lawyer of President Donald Trump, recorded most, if not all, of his conversations with his client, Donald J. Trump. All previously mentioned recordings have been seized by the FBI. Some of these conversations might allegedly involve two women who had alleged affairs with Trump. The recordings could prove valuable to the government’s criminal investigation of Michael Cohen. Cohen’s under scrutiny for attempting to cover the alleged affair through a hush deal with porn star Stormy Daniels. The warrant for the raids also specified that Cohen was being investigated for bank fraud, wire fraud and campaign finance issues. This is still a developing story.

Salmonella Scare in Indiana

A farm in Indiana is recalling more than 200 million eggs sold in nine states over salmonella fears. The eggs were sold and distributed through retail stores and restaurants in Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Brands affected include Country Daybreak, Coburn Farms, Crystal Farms, Sunshine Farms and Glenview, with some eggs sold at Food Lion stores. 22 illnesses have been reported so far, and FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb stated in a tweet “Consumers with these eggs shouldn’t eat them. Throw them away or return them to place of purchase for credit or refund.” Some of salmonella symptoms include fever, nausea, diarrhea and abdominal pain.

Paul Ryan NOT Seeking Reelection

Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, has stated that he will not be seeking reelection, unbeknownst to most of the White House staff. “You realize something when you take this job,” Ryan told reporters during his announcement Wednesday morning. “It’s a big job with a lot riding on you … but you also know this is not a job that does not last forever. … You realize you hold the office for just a small part of our history. So you better make the most of it.” Ryan has also stated that he will be retiring from Congress as a whole. GOP members saw the Wisconsin Republican as a stable, policy-oriented leader in a party shaken by the tumultuous Donald Trump presidency. He said that the 2018 midterms and the chance that he wouldn’t be speaker didn’t factor at all into his decision to announce his retirement. “I like to think I’ve done my part, my little part in history to set us on a better course,” Ryan said.

Fraud Facebook Page

The “Black Lives Matter” Facebook page, that has over 700k followers, was controlled by a middle-aged Caucasian man from Australia. All of this was uncovered when it was discovered that a small portions of the Facebook’s proceeds were transferred to bank account in Australia. The page was consistently linked to websites tied to Ian Mackay, a National Union of Workers official in Australia. A spokesperson for the National Union of Workers said Tuesday that it has suspended Mackay and one other official while it investigates the situation. The discovery questions Facebook, as well as Mark Zuckerberg’s, policy, but it’s not like it’s the first time. The Facebook page has since been deactivated.
