Spread Some Holiday Cheer: Toys for Tots is Here

Halloween is over–the goblins, ghosts, and pumpkins packed up and put away until next season–and we know what that means…

It’s time to start thinking about our favorite winter holidays.

While you’re waiting for those radio stations to start playing holiday jingles, you can gear up for the upcoming festivities by participating in the Key Club’s annual Toys for Tots collection.

“The Marine Core collects toys each year for the families in the North Penn area and Montgomery County,” said Key Club advisor Mrs. Linda Law. “We begin collecting in November through the beginning of December.”

Toys for Tots aims to collect new and unwrapped toys, starting in October, in time for delivery to underprivileged families in the community when those special holidays roll around.

“Any type of brand new toys–unwrapped–for babies to children of all ages to teenagers [are needed],” said Law.

Everyone can donate; whether they are Key Club members, students, faculty, or members of the community–all you need to do is bring your unwrapped toy to one of the designated drop-off boxes located around the school.

“Boxes will be in placed outside the athletic office, in the mailroom, and in the K-Pod Main office,” said Law.

North Penn has been an avid supporter of Toys for Tots for 15 plus years now, and hope to contribute even more than their 1,100-toy donation from last season.

“We’re really excited for Toys for Tots this year. Last year, the Key Club donated over 1,100 toys to children in the community,” said Maria Poccia, Key Club President. “We are looking forward to collecting even more gifts for kids to make their holiday season bright.”

Any further questions can be direction to Mrs. Linda Law, Key Club Advisor.
