You may know her as the daughter of The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll; Lisa Marie Presley is dead at 54 after a medical complication. She suffered a cardiac arrest this Thursday at 10:37 PST. This came as a shock to many, especially because of her lively presence at the Golden Globes this past weekend.

Presley attended the Golden Globes this year in light of Austin Butler’s nomination for Best Actor, Motion Picture Drama in the movie Elvis, in which he portrays Presley’s father. After Butler won the Golden Globe, Presley and her mother, Priscilla, were seen getting very emotional. Both Presley and her mother were thanked in Butler’s acceptance speech for sharing their story and emotions with him regarding the death of Elvis Presley.

The bond Presley had with her father was strong despite the fact he died when she was only nine years old. Presley lived through her father and his fame. Meanwhile, her relationship with her mother had many ups and downs. Presley and her mother had many opposing views as they grew up , but after Presley’s messy divorce from Michael Lockwood in 2017, her mother put everything aside to support her.

Before her death this morning, Presley’s mother made Instagram posts and tweeted on Twitter asking everyone to pray for her daughter. At the time, Presley was “receiving the best care” at the hospital, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough.

Despite the sad passing of Elvis Presley’s only child, the legend of the Presleys will live on for many years to come.
