Contagion, a shocking tale of sickness, fear, and death in the modern world, gives viewers the suspense they crave. Featuring a fantastically coherent cast including Matt Damon (Bourne series), Jude Law (The Holiday), Gwyneth Paltrow (Country Strong) and Kate Winslet (Titanic), the movie intertwines various plotlines creating an organized yet complex story.

Directed by Academy Award-winning Stephen Soderbergh (Ocean’s Eleven, Traffic), the movie involves dramatic, yet accurate details of this pandemic, including clever storylines to catch the viewers attention. Returning from a business trip in Hong Kong, Beth Emhoff (Paltrow) is the first to contract the disease in the movie, later spreading it to her son while her husband (Damon) is amazingly immune. The world is decimated by one single disease.  Contagion carefully goes back and forth from Beth and other victim’s families and to the government desperately trying to find a cure.

Set in various different parts of the world, the movie brings cultures together as they fearfully encounter this virus. Viewers will watch in fear as people suffer and die from painfully slow seizures while others are fighting to stay alive.

Contagion is currently playing in theatres and deserves a packed audience. The indescribable drama, fitting cast, and compelling storyline will be enjoyable to all. Three and a half stars are given to this contagious thriller.
