Jessie Bradica-North Penn Stronger Together

What inspired you to run for North Penn School Board? Anything specifically related to the current Board’s decisions over the last year?

I have been inspired to run to help parents and students feel heard and valued. I have seen and experienced a lot of frustration with the lack of transparency in board decisions, and parent issues and comments being ignored. Changes in curriculum and politically driven agendas have also been concerning. I want to make sure we are providing the best resources and professional development for to ensure all students are teaching their potential and that teachers have the best resources to help their students succeed.

What, if anything, would you have done differently in regards to the re-opening process throughout this school year?

I would have implemented the 2020-2021 fall opening plan that the administration had laid out in June, which was in line with the CDC, and which 70-80% of parents responded as wanting some level of in-person instruction for their kids. I would have put political ideology and agendas aside, and have focused on the needs of our students and families.

If elected, what will be your top priorities post-pandemic?

  1. To provide support and professional development opportunities for our teachers and staff to help students return to a positive environment where they can once again thrive academically, socially, and mentally. We as a district community, need to address the learning gaps and mental health declines students have faced, and invest in remediation to curb the after effects of this pandemic. Students should want to walk through our open doors, and North Penn should once again be the top choice for parents in educating their children.
  2. Look at our curriculum, professional development, and spending and ensure that we are being fiscally responsible in investing in the best programs and resources for our teachers and students success.
  3. Reverse our 4 years of declined state rankings by ensuring that we are providing a high quality experience for all of our students. I pledge to work with all levels of our district community to identify NPSD’s strengths and weaknesses in maximizing our students’ potential.
  4. Find solutions on how we can better involve parents and take advantage of public comments during board meetings. I will work to increase transparency and decrease costly Right To Know Requests.

How would your unique skill set and background be an asset to the Board?

I have a passion for serving youth and families, and have been doing so for over 15 years by working on multiple committees and programs both inside and outside of the North Penn School District. I have used my business and marketing background to successfully improve, plan, and implement dozens of events and programs for multiple organizations. I plan on using these skills along with a commitment to work with all members of our North Penn community to not only keep the diversity and academic traditions of this district strong, but make them even stronger together!
