As the temperatures slowly rise to meet spring, many places in the Lansdale/North Wales area open up due to warmer weather. Here’s a list of the best places where you can soak up the springtime sunshine.

  1. Wissahickon Creek – Lansdale

Running through Fort Washington State Park, Wissahickon Creek is a popular springtime place for tourists. There’s a scenic trail to hike along, in addition to a small park. The infamous “Devil’s Pool” is there as well, a small pocket of water with a mini cliff overlooking it. It’s a bit crowded on most days.

  1. Parkside Place Park – North Wales

Featuring a giant playground castle for the little ones, Parkside is more than just a park. A nice, paved trail wraps around the park for hiking. A large field is contiguous to the castle, the perfect place to have a picnic.

  1. Peace Valley Park – New Britain

Featuring an impressive lake, Peace Valley Park has an assortment of things to do. You can canoe or kayak on the lake, walk the trail, or just take in the view. Not only is it a great place to walk, but also to bring your bike and get some exercise!

  1. Ringing Rocks Park – Upper Black Eddy

This attraction speaks for itself – it’s a bunch of ringing rocks in a clump. After taking a quick walk to the main clearing, a jungle of rocks appears that, yes, can actually ring. Make sure to bring a hammer or another tool to hit the rocks!

  1. Spring Mountain – Valley Forge

It’s not just open in the winter! Spring Mountain features a “Canopy Tour” for the whole family to enjoy. The full tour takes roughly 2-3 hours to complete. It has ziplines, rope bridges, and various rappels. If you’re looking for an easier course, they have a smaller version of the tour that only takes 30 minutes to 1 hour.

So, as warmer weather approaches, visit one of these places to soak up the sun!
