Keeping track of the whereabouts of over 1,000 students is no easy task. On top of that, countless phone calls from parents telling the school that they are taking their child home early or bringing them in late can cause a lot of stress to anybody; that is, unless you’re Attendance Secretary Ms. Kimberly Sisian.
Even though she might be new to the high school, Sisian has been with the district for over a decade. She started working at North Penn in 2013 as a substitute who worked everywhere around the district. In 2018, she got a part time position at Inglewood Elementary as an Intervention Assistant. This year, she got hired full time as an Attendance Secretary at North Penn High School, keeping track of attendance for sophomores. Even though some might see her job as very stressful, she does not.
“My day is not stressful, but busy; it makes my day go by very quickly,” Sisian said.
One of the reasons Sisian loves working at North Penn is being able to see the students and work with them everyday. She also loves the academic atmosphere of the school. Keeping track of over 1,000 sophomore students in one of the biggest high schools is no easy task, but Sisian does well at keeping things organized and staying on top of things, making her the perfect fit for her job.
When Sisian is away from her desk, she is either at home with her husband and her dog, Stella, watching Philly sports or being active outside. She likes walking around the trails of Peace Valley Park and looking at the beautiful scenery. Traveling to new places is another hobby of hers, especially to warmer destinations. One of her favorite ways of travel is cruises, where she can experience different foods and places to visit.
“On cruises, I like to scout out potential places that look interesting and potentially go there for a longer vacation,” Sisian said.
North Penn is lucky to have someone so organized, friendly, and dedicated, especially when it comes to keeping track of over 1,000 sophomores. Everyone should give a warm welcome to the new Attendance Secretary in K025 for North Penn, Ms. Kimberly Sisian.
