After 28 years of dedicated service, Ms. Robyn Williams, Senior Home Office Secretary, is closing a memorable chapter at North Penn High School. With plans to start a new adventure of life down south, Williams sends her final farewells to North Penn.
Williams began her journey at North Penn at just 23 years old. Working here for 28 years, she got to experience many different positions. From working behind the scenes creating special schedules to coordinating substitutes, she eventually became a senior secretary. Through it all, she remained a passionate presence in the high school community.
“I love the high school atmosphere. I tell people I play high school everyday,” Williams quipped.
Although her job could be stressful at times, Williams embraces it, tending to become bored in a slow atmosphere.
“Some days are a little more trying and crazier than others, but I tell everyone that I love chaos,” Ms. Williams adds.
Beyond her day to day duties, Williams also worked many sporting events as extra duty among the years. These games have been among some of her favorite memories. She especially loved working under the Friday night lights, loving the atmosphere of the football games.
Still, while she enjoyed the job and the excitement of the school events, it was the relationships with her coworkers that made her time at North Penn truly special. Creating nearly 3 decades worth of friendship and memories with them, they will forever have a special place in her heart. One of whom, is fellow senior secretary, Mrs. Theresa Arduino.
“Ms. Williams and I have known each other since coming to work at the high school in 1997. We became fast friends even though I’m a few years older than her,” senior class secretary, Mrs. Theresa Arduino said.
Working side by side in K25, Williams and Arduino have become lifelong friends. Bonded by their shared love for the Phillies, the two have attended countless games over the years. Their connection has extended beyond the workplace, as they often spend time outside of school together and with other close friends from NP.
“She is not just retiring, she is moving to Florida, so it’s going to be hard but it will give me a place to visit next Spring. Spring Training here we come!” Arduino said.
On July 2nd, Williams will officially pack up and head to Florida, ready to enjoy the sunshine, new beginnings, and a life lived by what she fondly calls the “Gulf of Margaritaville.” She looks forward to this next chapter with her fiance and is excited about what lies ahead. Williams isn’t sure if she will get back into education in Florida, but she will definitely miss it and the atmosphere.
While Williams may be saying goodbye to North Penn, her impact will be felt for years to come.
