Cruising south 25 MPH from Sumneytown Pike to Main Street, you’ll see out your left window a plaza of shops. Nearby Little’s and The Green Fork is the hidden gem Creative Edge Center of the Arts.

Creative Edge Center of the Arts goes by a variety of names. Whether it’s “The Center”, “Creative Edge”, or “CECA” 125 S Main St in North Wales is home for many North Penn students and has provided them with the tools to succeed in programs at the high school.

Providing numerous classes and programs ranging from theatre to dance allows students to become the best performer they can be.

“I have loved my experiences at Creative Edge and I’ve met some of my best friends there,” North Penn senior Ben Kurz said.

North Penn sophomore Ashlyn Kelsey knows all the behind the scenes in the center as her parents are the owners of the magical place.

“My mom had just left the dance studio she was working at and she decided that she wanted to create her own business. She wanted to create the exact space that she wanted. So then she talked to my dad and he was like ‘Let’s do it! We’ve always had a dream of starting something together.’ And also it worked out in the time of their lives,” Ashlyn Kelsey explained.

Additionally within the doors of CECA is The Theater Next Door, North Wales’ own community theater.

“So we’re just starting a new community theater called The Theater Next Door. Right now Creative Edge is the sponsor for The Theater Next Door, which will soon be its own entity. But for right now it’s being housed inside Creative Edge. It’s an outreach of the OG Creative Edge business to expand theatre for more people,” Kelsey stated.

Similarly to Kurz, Kelsey has felt that her home inside Creative Edge has allowed her to create deep and special bonds with a multitude of people.

“The Center has helped me to find some of my best friends in the entire world and allowed me to meet people of all different ages and create special bonds and friendships,” Kelsey described.

Going into 2026 will be their 10th year of creating magic with and within so many people in our community.

“We’ve been open for nine years. Next year will be our tenth year of dance and theatre. It’s been a really great journey,” Kelsey described.
