COME IN! WE’RE OPEN FOR BUSINESS: NPHS student Caleb An made a purchase at the NPHS school store.

Feeling peckish or simply want some tasty snacks to munch on throughout the day? From 4th to 5th period, stop by North Penn’s school store, which is located between the senior and regular cafeterias.

Gums and fruit snacks are currently the most popular items at the store.

“We were originally going to open up the school store to sell our merchandise we were making for accounting class. However, Ms. [Christine] Peterson offered to buy all the snacks. So, we used this opportunity to sell our stuff. All the clothes that are here are from the Future Business Leaders of America, the club that is run by Ms. Peterson,” senior Kiley McTaggart explained.

McTaggart is in charge of restocking all the items and handling the transactions. The store offers a wide variety of items from North Penn gear to food.

“We have different kinds of snacks, mints, gums, school supplies, and some clothes,” McTaggart said.

From an influx of customers when the store first opened, the school store has recently seen a drop in students.

“There were a lot [of students] in the beginning because the German students were here and we had to give them hoodies. [Now] I usually get 5 to 10 students a day,” added McTaggart.

Kiley McTaggart successfully handles the challenges of managing the school store. She hopes that the school will continue to run the store in the future.
