Dunkin Donuts new holiday drinks this winter.

The Holiday season is quickly approaching, and what better way to get into the Christmas spirit than by trying Dunkin’s seasonal drinks, which are highlighted with peppermint mocha and toasted white chocolate flavors.

Drink: Peppermint Mocha Signature Latte (Hot)

Price: $3.29 small

This had the strongest coffee taste of all of the drinks, as there wasn’t a noticeably strong peppermint flavor. However, the mocha/chocolate aspect of this was stronger yet not too sweet. It had a smooth, thick texture, and was on the heavy side. This drink is enjoyable but will fill you up quickly.

Drink: Peppermint Mocha Signature Latte (Iced)

Price: $3.89 small

This drink completely differs from the hot version. The peppermint flavor was extremely overpowering, and I could not taste the mocha at all, which took away most of the sweetness that I would have liked in this drink. The overwhelming burnt coffee flavor along with the overall bitterness of this drink made this the most unenjoyable for me.

Drink: Toasted White Chocolate Iced Signature Latte (Iced)

Price: $3.89 small

At first, this drink just tasted like a strong latte, but I could taste the toasted white mocha part of it later on. The toasted aspect of this drink was more apparent than the mocha flavor, again giving off the overwhelming burnt coffee taste. There is cinnamon sprinkled on the top, which gives a strong and almost distracting scent every time I leaned in to take a sip. Overall there is a very subtle toasted white mocha flavor but the coffee is very strong. I got used to the flavor the more and more I drank it. Both of these iced lattes were not ones that I would want to order again and overall did not get me into the Christmas mood.

Drink: White Mocha Hot Chocolate

Price: $2.79 small

This was a classic drink that anyone with a sweet tooth would enjoy. It has a strong hot chocolate flavor, and the taste of the white mocha is subtle but apparent. It is richer than regular hot chocolate, but just enough that it is not overwhelming. The long lasting aftertaste is enough to make you want to go back for another sip immediately. Though I do not typically enjoy hot drinks, this was my favorite of all the drinks I tried.

Drink: Peppermint Mocha Cold Brew with Sweet Cold Foam

Price: $3.69 small

This drink has a sweet peppermint flavor that is not too strong compared to the other drinks I tasted. The cold foam adds a soft texture with a light and creamy feeling on the tongue, as well as a sweet taste before reaching the strong coffee. This was the most refreshing of the iced drinks and the one I would most like to get again.

Overall, doing this taste-testing opened my eyes to the type of drinks that I enjoy from season to season, specifically the ones I would most want to buy during the holidays. Dunkin’ definitely emphasizes the holiday flavors present in the drinks, and making a trip to Dunkin’ to pick up a drink in your favorite winter flavor would definitely be worth the time if you want to get into the holiday spirit!
