Alumni Spotlight: Michelle Park

North Penn Class of 2018 graduate Michelle Park is living her best life at the University of Pittsburgh, where she is currently majoring in biology on a pre medical track.

“During high school, biology was my favorite subject because I found it very interesting. I’ve always wanted to pursue a job where I could help people and a job that I’d love, so I felt like medicine was the right track for me,” said Park.

At North Penn, she was in the National Honors Society and Spanish Club. She also played tennis during her junior and senior years.

As for her classes, she took AP bio, AP calculus and AP chemistry, as well as all honors classes. She also took Allied Health during her senior year, which is a program where students spend part of the day at Abington Lansdale hospital by doing clinicals or learning anatomy.

Now a college student, Park is currently in a sorority and is part of the club FIMRC (Foundations of International Medical Relief of Children).

In the future, she hopes to graduate Pitt with a degree. Then, before she heads off to medical school, she plans to join the Peace Corp in a Spanish-speaking country.

Favorite part about college:

“My favorite part is being on my own and being independent. I’m able to do what I want when I want to. I also liked being in a new environment with new people.”

What do you miss about North Penn?

“I miss going to school with my high school friends the most.”

Advice to High Schoolers:

“Enjoy it while it lasts! This is so cheesy, but it really does fly by! Spend your years with people you want to be surrounded by!”
