I’M POSITIVE! North Penn High School nurse Sally Kauffman holds her Word of the Day book that she is using as a grass roots effort to spread positivity in the NPHS climate.

TOWAMENCIN – Here to make your day more positive, Mrs. Sally Kauffman, the school nurse at North Penn High School, has created the Twitter account “Collectively We Care NPHS.” With a different positive word posted each day, she aims to make an impact by helping students’ days to be a little more positive.

As her New Year Resolution, Kauffman vowed to make a twitter account and post a different positive word each day. The goal of the Twitter account has been to post one word a day with a positive meaning to not only brighten up people’s days, but to make her feel even better each day as well. Making this account has made Kauffman’s life more positive as well. Recording every word she uses in a book, she follows it up by writing a page about the positive things that happened in her day under the word of the day.

“Writing a new word each day, and recording in my book, makes me pretty happy. If i can help make someone else’s day a little better, then that makes me very happy!”- Sally Kauffman

Kauffman hopes different classes and groups can use the words in their own ways as well, thereby getting the whole school to be a part of her positivity. Her ideas to impact the school with her words are creative, but even more so inspiring.

“Students can send me words, or recommendations for words, as well as maybe clubs might be able to do something with the words. The chorus people could write a song with the words, or maybe the art department can make a collage,” explained Kauffman.

Kauffman had devoted her year to not only take care of each student here at North Penn with bandages or aspirin, but with a passion for positivity and happiness. If you are looking for that one thing to give you the kick you need to get through your day, or to push out that smile in the morning, follow @collectivelywecareNPHS, for a word of the day to make yours a little better.
