The expectations have hit an ultimate high. Gone is the day were one can simply ask a girl to prom via a brief encounter in the hallway between classes. It has to be done right, rated on a scale of creativity, originality and ultimate cuteness; the perfect Promposal.
“Each year it’s getting harder and harder to impress the girls. Guys are competing against each other to look the best, and also girls are expecting to have the best promposals and at times it gets very hard to meet their standards,” commented senior Alex Price.
Asking a girl to prom in the hallway without a big display of some sort? Don’t even think about it. These days that is viewed as lack of effort which means you don’t really care. If you are going to do it at school at least write it in huge chalk letters on the outskirts of the main stairway outside of the school. If you are feeling extremely adventurous you can even use a major event such as oh I don’t know, Mr. North Penn.
“We are running out of ideas that haven’t been done before. If the promposal ideas have been done before in the past, we are trying to put our own twist on them by attempting to make the promposal bigger and bigger. It seems as if that’s where women’s standards have reached at this point,” said Price.
Allow me to show some examples of the ridiculous heights that promposals have taken.
PUT POST-ITS ON THEIR VEHICLE If you plan on asking that special someone to the prom, you are going to want to invest in a lot of post-its. I am talking about enough to cover an entire vehicle. After seeing their car covered in post-its, they will have no choice but to say “yes”.
PLAY DEAD Simply play dead on the middle of school hallway and attach a sign saying “I am dying to go to the prom with [insert their name]”. If you can inform others about it ahead of time, you can make a sign directed in first person, allowing the potential date to discover you lying on the hallway floor. This innovative way to ask a date to the prom has proved to be one of the most effectual ways there is and I also believe it will work for you.
FAKE PARKING TICKET What a wonderful surprise for them if they go to their car only to discover they received a parking ticket with the question on it.
CANDLES LEAD THE WAY One of the best ways to ask a date to the prom is simply by lighting a bunch of tiny little candles and then placing them up their driveway to their house. This is perfect particularly when you direct them to a creative sign popping the question.
SIDEWALK CHALKING IT Even though this is a more mundane way of asking him or her to the prom, it has always shown to be effective. Write in huge letters “Will you go to the prom with me?” But make sure they know who you are.
PIZZA DELIVERY Have a pizza delivered to their and on the pizza, have them spell out the question. As cheesy as it may be, this tactic works amazingly and will definitely get your date to say yes.
