Saying Goodbye to the Face of E112, Mrs. Kathy Simpkins

Saying+Goodbye+to+the+Face+of+E112%2C+Mrs.+Kathy+Simpkins

The first face you see in home office E112, Mrs. Kathryn Simpkins, is putting a close on her time her at North Penn.

Simpkins started her career in the North Penn School District in Penndale Middle School’s IMC for a year and a half before coming over to high school.

Additionally, Simpkins began 31 years ago as a homeroom mom when her daughter was in kindergarten.

“I then continued doing volunteer work in elementary schools, so when they started opening more schools, I was able to apply in school district to work and that’s when I was a substitute in every different level. When openings came up, I took a job at Penndale,” she explained.

Simpkins also helps out with the Memorial Garden here at North Penn. If you have not seen it before, it is right outside of c-pod near the parking lots in the bus circle.

Some of Simpkins’ favorite memories include working with all the kids and working with everyone in E112 because, as she explained, “they’re all fun.”

“I always love graduation,” she continued. “Graduation is always a good memory, being able to hand out diplomas and see students one last time.”

During her retirement, Simpkins looks forward to “waking up in the morning and being able to decide what I get to do that day. I plan on traveling and my daughter is having another little boy in three weeks so I will have a second grandson to look forward to spending time with.”

Simpkins would like to close by wishing the Class of 2013 good luck and saying, “I’ll miss everyone in E112.”
