“Over two decades ago now, NPHS Thespians took on the challenge to support the cause of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS outreach to people and their families. The idea was spread across the United States through the Pennsylvania State Thespian Conference and the International Thespian Festival. Since 1999, Thespians nationally have raised nearly $2 million dollars to help those dealing with HIV/AIDS. We are so proud that it all began in the NPHS auditorium. One idea can light the world. Today’s Thespians are still raising money and awareness through their talents and art,” Thespian Troupe #5464 Director Andrea Roney said.

“Broadway Cares is a charity event run by the North Penn High School Theatre students and Thespian Troupe #5464. North Penn holds a performance gala every year where NPHS students show off their skills by performing a song, group act, or monologue. All money raised during the event goes towards the Broadway Cares/Equity Fight Aids foundation,” Troupe President Tori Quinn said.
