Pre-game party brings students and staff out for homcoming fun

TOWAMENCIN – The North Penn High School SGA was back for a three-peat, hosting their third annual pregame party before the homecoming football game on Friday night.

With the party leading up to the anticipated football game, SGA wanted to sweeten the deal and have students come out for some safe and fun activities.

“First of all it’s a big rivalry game against North Penn and Pennridge and everyone loves homecoming and we’re just trying to make it a little bit more special with the pregame party” explained the SGA Advisor Mr. Kyle Burger.

SGA Treasurer Adrienne Newcomer also added, “It’s a fairly new event here at North Penn, so it’s very special because we’re providing the kids with a chance to have something fun. We don’t get to have a homecoming dance traditionally here at North Penn which is something a lot of kids miss out on so the pregame party is a nice advantage for students to get together and have some fun.”

For $20, the ticket included a homecoming tee shirt, food from Moe’s, and endless fun with tailgate games and on the moon bounce.

“I mean, it would be hard not to miss this and especially the priceless memories for twenty dollars, it’s so worth it,” junior Sam Lee exclaimed.

The pregame party collected great feedback with Senior Adam Morrow adding, “I’ve been to all of the pregame parties and this one looks like it’s the best one yet.”

Also leading up to the big game was the Homecoming Court Reception.

“Each person in the homecoming court, all 14 of them, has an escort come with them to the night of homecoming and all of their parents are invited to come, and we host a little reception for them. And it’s also where couples take pictures and group pictures so we can have memories” Adrienne Newcomer also said.

With cameras flashing and couples posing, the very surprised court nominees shared their opinions on the court reception.

“I think it’s amazing, and to have so much done for us is so spectacular” said Homecoming nominee Vanna Thach.

Also a Homecoming nominee, Becca Rosenblatt said “Walking in here, I’m blown away. I wasn’t expecting this at all. And I’m really impressed on how much they did.”
