TOWAMENCIN – North Penn’s senior night began with a celebration of this year’s seniors, but by the time the 80th minute concluded and the final whistle blew, it was Central Bucks South doing the celebrating.

North Penn (7-6-1) dropped their senior night matchup to CB South (10-3-1) by the score of 4-1, with the win being the Titan’s seventh in a row. The loss is the second loss to CBS this season, the first being a 3-1 defeat on September 3rd. North Penn was only able to total 2 shots on goal, as opposed to CB South’s 16.

Riley Karpinski netted her first of three goals of the night for the Titans in just the 10th minute, drilling a goal into the top left of the goal just past the hands of North Penn’s Rachel Murphy.

Some early North Penn strong possession was quickly fading as CBS would strike again just ten minutes later, this time off the head-in of Monika Daly from a well-placed corner kick.

“You give her a little bit of space, she hits a shot in the upper 90, and then they hit a great corner and get up for a header and we just don’t really have girls with that height in the box. It’s hard to get challenged when it’s on her head like that,” North Penn head coach Mike Rio said.

North Penn was able to hold the line defensively for 48 straight minutes after the rapid offensive start from the Titans, but it was Karpinski again finding the back of the net from 15 yards out in the 68th minute to lengthen CB South’s lead to 3-0.

“They had some great goals. They’re really one of the stronger teams that we play, maybe the strongest team that we play,” Rio added. “The girl had a really good shot, and it’s always going to be hard against them to work back from being down because they’re just so good all over the field.”

As the game headed to a close, CBS and Karpinski tacked on one more goal in the 73rd minute, before North Penn’s Lani Bachmann prevented the shutout with a goal of her own just three minutes later in the 76th minute.

The loss places North Penn in 17th place in the district rankings, and boosts CB South up to 5th.

“There’s a lot of positives to take away from the night as we head into the last four games of the season and potentially playoffs. We see some areas where we competed and there were definitely pieces and portions of the game where I thought we controlled some of the possession and some of the attack, we just have to figure out how to prolong those stretches and then try and get something from it a little sooner,” Rio said.

All 5 of the Knights seniors got the start on their honorary night, but it has been the impact off the pitch that has resonated with the team.

“They’re just an awesome group. One of the big things with them is they’re all just such great mentors and leaders. They’ve been that way through their whole time here, but with any of the younger incoming class classes,” Rio said of his seniors.

As their season begins to wrap up, their presence will be felt much further than the confines of Crawford Stadium.

“It’s really flowed through the whole team that way, just that positivity, that friendship or camaraderie, whether it’s on the field or off the field and practices or just when they’re hanging out. They’ve encouraged such a positive mindset and been so receptive and encouraging to all the other classes,” Rio added. “It’s a small senior class this year, just the five of them, but I really think that they’re going to be incredibly missed when they’re gone just because of the relationships that they’ve formed and they’ve helped build with the other girls.”

Central Bucks South will host Central Bucks West on Thursday, 10/9 at 7 pm, and North Penn will host Pennridge on Friday, 10/10 at 3:15.

“I thought the girls really brought great energy tonight, working really hard for the seniors and the seniors played really great out there. I’m really proud of the way the girls worked offensively, how the defense played today. I’m proud of the way we fought to the end. The girls didn’t give up, the energy on the bench was great all game, and then the work on the field was awesome,” Rio concluded.

Below are the five seniors from the ’26 class, where they’re headed for college and what they intend to major in:

#35 Morgan Rodoff – Manhattan University – Early Education

#36 Emily Kralik – Undecided – Secondary Education

#33 Izzy Rudnick – Undecided – Neuroscience, Physiology, and Business

#10 Sophia Zampirri – Undecided – Undecided
