SOFTBALL- The 2017 softball team poses with a trophy.

Head Coach: Rick Torresani 18th year  (345 wins)

Assistant Coaches: Mary Ward, Vicky Tumasz, Mike Beer, and Stephanie Kulp

Last Year’s Record:  18 – 6 Continental Conference Champions

Notable Losses: Bri Battavio (Monmouth University)

Key Returners:  Seniors: Tori Chiu, Laura Brock, Erin Cliver, Emily Groarke, Britney Moyer

Courtney Neal, and Laura Taylor. Juniors: Jamie Beer, Elia Namey, and Jordan Pietreykoski.

Sophomores:  Amanda Greaney,  and Victoria Juckniewitz.

Others to watch:  Freshmen Holly Kopp, Rachel Lowry, and Mady Volpe

Strengths: As the head coach I am thrilled to have such an ideal coaching staff with former NP softball players and college athletes in Mary Ward (IUP), Stephanie Kulp (Millersville), Vicky Tumasz (Shippensburg, Chestnut Hill College) and travel coach Mike Beer.  They will bring to the program enthusiasm, motivating instruction and great leadership to help improve each player,” said Torresani.

Question Marks: “We have 4 very good and talented pitchers who will end up in the circle to start the season,” noted Torresani.

Outlook: “We return 7 starters from last year’s Continental Conference Champions and a great deal of talent in the underclassmen. Our experienced athletes have committed to defending our Continental Conference Championship and our tradition of making the district playoffs.  This is the season where we must be ready every game, every inning and every pitch. #finish.”
