TOWAMENCIN – Going into senior night on Wednesday the Maidens knew that the game was a must win. In order to make playoffs they have to win their last two regular season games, and game one was against Hatboro-Horsham. The Maidens came out firing on all cylinders and were able to pick up the 2-0 victory over the Hatters.

North Penn came out of the pageantry of senior night with poise and intensity. Through a scoreless first half, the Maidens controlled the ball for a large majority of the time and had almost all of the shots on goal.

“We all knew what this game meant, and we came out with intensity and wanted to keep (that) intensity up all game” said Senior Sydnee Towns.

At the 37 minute mark in the second half Amelia Eshraghi broke the deadlock and put the Maidens up 1-0. 12 minutes later Marissa Werner tacked on another goal to ice the game for the Maidens.

North Penn was able to do what they set out to do, and squeezed the life out of the Hatters with their unwavering intensity. Goalie Hannah Lambert got little work in the match, but she was a stone wall when she was tested.

“They were a good team, they passed well, but I think we stuck them out and we were able to pull out the win in the end” Towns added.

The Maidens take on Methacton on Friday in another must win situation. The win would secure a postseason berth for North Penn.
