LANSDALE –With a hot September has also come a hot start on the links for the 2015 Knights golf team.  North Penn Golf came out victorious against Central Bucks East at Pine Crest Golf Course, 195-208. The Knights improved 4-1 to continue their hot start while CB East stumbled to 2-2.

The home team was led by junior Ron Robinson who shot 37, followed by junior Andrew Lombardo, junior Billy Donovan, and senior Joey Shibata with 39 and senior Matt Pickford with 41.

“We know we play every team twice, so we are not too concerned about last game [CB West] and we were just looking forward,” stated Andrew Lombardo. “That was a tough away game, but we knew we are coming back to Pine Crest so we were confident.”

CB East was coming off of a surprise win against a tough Council Rock South team, but their sudden spark did not shake NP Golf Coach Dave DiValentino.

“We already have our good strategy regarding our pairs,” said DiValentino, “we are just building consistency. It does not matter to us who we are playing against. We are confident that we can pull out a win.”

Playing at home was a key factor, as the tough course has outs on every single hole that can drive up the score with few mistakes. For the Knights, however, it is more of an advantage than a loss.

“Not a lot of people in the conference get to play in this course, and many players on our team have opportunities to play here,”  said Ron Robinson. “We know where all the humps and bumps are.”

With the morale high out of a big win against their conference rival, the North Penn Golf team next travels to CB East’s home turf this time and takes on the Patriots again in Tuesday.
