Optimism high for Knights soccer squad in 2015

TOWAMENCIN – After a great season record-wise, the NPHS Boys’ Soccer team ended the season in a bitter note when they were beat by a lower-seeded team in the playoff. While there are many losses to the team, the new players stepping up to the plate will look to carry the team on their shoulder and transcend last year’s success. Four captains with many varsity minutes already will glue the team together to take the team far into the playoffs and challenge for the State title.

Head Coach: Paul Duddy (16th year at NP)

Last Season’s Record: 16-4-0 (12-2-0 in Conf.)

Key Losses: Kevin McKenna, Drew McMenamin, Nick Miller, Brad Deckel

Key Players: Mike Kohler, Scott Kohler, Jordan Katz, Collin Jerome

Coach’s Quote: “I’m always optimistic. The majority of the team works really hard and that’s the most important thing about soccer. We have very good club teams around this area and they produce tons of quality players to use at our disposal, so we are lucky to have that.”

Key Player Collin Jerome’s Quote: “I feel really good about this season. We have lots of returning seniors who played a key role last year and talented underclassmen looking to step into the holes that the graduating players left.”
